Charity Bike Ride
A team of six from RMS took part in the Manchester to Blackpool
100K Charity Bike Ride last Sunday (July 4th). For the uninitiated,
that’s 65 miles. The beneficiaries were
various but included The Wood Street Mission and Christies.
Some of the team had trained assiduously for the event, some had not; the latter relying on natural athleticism and sheer pluck.
Hazards included horizontal rain, horizontal flying sand, almost gale force winds in parts of the course and 7,000 other cyclists.
However, all the team members completed the ride (two subs included) to their great credit, raising several hundred pounds in the process. Well done to those concerned; Ruth, Lucy, Nicola, Dan and those providing transport and back-up.
